What is the "Gospel of the Kingdom" or How does one enter "Eternal Life?
I present to you what I believe is "The Gospel/Good News of the Kingdom of God", my sincere prayer is that it is understandable, that the Almighty will give you eyes to see, and by reading this you will be blessed. Shalom! Any questions, concerns, comments, feel free to contact us. Would love to hear from you!
I would like to add that salvation or redemption, Eternal Life is a Free Gift from G-D, we cannot earn salvation. Let me state this again, we cannot earn our way to the Kingdom of Heaven. It is a Free Gift of the G-D of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Through the atoning works of The Messiah of Israel, Yeshua ha Mashiach Ben ha Elohim Y'chad(Jesus Christ G-D's Only Unique Son), but with a redeemed life, their is a change in that life. A life that will want to do only one thing for the rest of their lives in this world, Glorify Almighty G-D, Worship HIM with a circumcised Heart. Shalom.

The other day while my family and friends were together on a Shabbat gathering, the question arouse. "What really is the Gospel, the Good News of Y'shua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ)?" When we get together with like minded brothers and sisters of the faith we spend time reading the Torah of Moses (First five books of the Bible), followed up with readings in the Haftorah(Books of the Prophets), and then Psalms and the B'rit Chadasha(New Testament). We discuss many subjects, usually on how it is related with the Torah portion for that week. And yes, we get off on rabbit trails many times. But the subject of the Gospel, the Good News, that is not brought up very often. Do we take it for granted? Was that a step that we all had taken many years before, so it really is not relevant today? Have we missed something along the way? In this very short teaching, I am going to present the Gospel or Good News which I believe is what the Bible teaches. After all the salvation of our very soul depends on it!
Of the people that were involved in our conversation that not so distant day, we all had considerable experience in many Christian Churches. We had a very diversified background when it came to the many different denominations. Mostly Protestant Evangelical Churches, but also some Catholic experience. The one thing that we were pretty much in agreement with. What is the universal stand of the Church when considering ones salvation. How do we get to Heaven? Or maybe I should say how do we get back to Paradise, which was lost after the sin of Adam and Eve? There are some minor differences in each churches doctrinal statements but for the most part what is said of the Good News of Jesus Christ is as follows. I need to add, this would be "Evangelical churches", for some of the more traditional churches believe observance of sacraments is required for salvation, such as; infant baptism, communion ... this does not include all the sacraments, just a couple for an example.
First one thing, I searched many Bibles to find "The Gospel" in supplemental writings of the various bibles. Couldn't find it. Finally after looking at a few Bibles, not a real extensive search mind you, I looked at my old King James Cornerstone Reference Bible. In the back it had the "Sinners Prayer". Now before the prayer an explanation on why you need to say the Sinners Prayer so they just don't throw it at you. There is a preparation time before one gets to the Sinners Prayer.
The Sinners Prayer as found in my Cornerstone Reference Bible:
Dear God, I know that Jesus is Your Son and that He died on the cross and was raised from the dead. Because I have sinned and need forgiveness, I ask Jesus to come into my heart. I am willing to change the direction of my life by acknowledging Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and by turning away from my sins. Thank You for giving me forgiveness, eternal life, and hope. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Use this prayer if it expresses your feelings, or pray a similar prayer in your own words, committing your life to Jesus and asking Him for His gift of eternal life.
Now before this prayer the authors of this Bible point out 4 keys to salvation: 1)Repent 2)Believe 3)Confess 4)Call. There is an explanation on each keys. Not bad. Let's look a little deeper.
Now for the most part this prayer is well and good. But it does omit some important details. I don't want to come across that the Good News is something that is complicated, it isn't! Y'shua(Jesus) taught us that one needs to come as a child to inherit eternal life. So the Good News is not complicated. It is not an esoteric teaching, where one has to achieve some type of enlightened awareness, or higher level of understanding to achieve. This is definitely not that. So let's go to the source and find out really what is the Gospel(Good News) of Jesus Christ.
Another important point that needs to be understood before we go on, in the world cultures there are two main mindsets. There are minor different mindsets but we will focus on the main two. In an abbreviated explanation the first one is:
1)Hellenistic mindset, or the Greek mindset. This mode of understanding originates back to the philosopher Plato. Where we have a dualism type of thinking. Spiritual and Physical. Plato's understanding was that anything that was relevant was the spiritual realm, the physical did not really matter. As long as you had a good understanding or belief system spiritually that is what mattered. The physical, what one does here in this world really did not matter. For it is all temporal. He believed that one would be reincarnated into another life after this one, so you had time to change a few things then. A constant cycle of life/death, life/death, and so on. In this mindset a clear distinction was made between the spiritual and the physical aspect.
2) Hebraic mindset, or the Jewish mindset. This mindset was based on the teachings of the Hebrew Bible. The God of Abraham,Isaac, and Jacob(Israel). This mindset does not differentiate between the spiritual and the physical, but instead the two work hand in hand with one another. It is of the utmost importance what one does in this life that determines the spiritual realm or the afterlife. Unlike Hellenistic thinking, the Hebraic mindset believes in what the Bible teaches; that all mankind is destined to live once in this world, then to die once. Then judgement. All will be judged for what they did in this life. In the book of James(Jacob) found in the New Testament of the Bible, it is explained this way; Chap. 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone(by itself), continuing, 18) Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19) Thou believest that there is one G-d; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20) But wilt thou know O vain man, that faith without works is dead? James(Jacob) gives a comparison of faith and works. This is a good way of looking at spiritual and physical working hand in hand with one another. In the Hebraic mindset what one believes on a spiritual level is evident in the way he lives. His life is an expression of what he believes. This is what Y'shua is speaking of in Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15) Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.16) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. This is speaking of good works that expresses what one believes, it cannot be hidden. Again, the spiritual(what one believes) and the physical(ones walk of life),(Halachah)working hand in hand. Let's continue shall we.
The Bible was written by Jewish people for Jewish people. Then these Jewish people were to go out to the world and share this Gospel(Good News). So that the rest of the world could be brought into the family of G-d. The Kingdom of G-d. This is how the G-d of the Bible established how HE wanted to be revealed to the world. In the Gospel of John in the New Testament (B'rit ha Chadasha) Chapter 4:21, this is Y'shua speaking to the Samaritan woman at the well, “Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22) Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 23) But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24) G-d is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. “Please do not make the mistake that it is only spiritual that Y'shua is speaking of here. It is spirit and truth. Again in the Hebraic mind this is, what you believe is how you will live. What I want to emphasize here is that Y'shua, which was a Jewish Rabbi himself, teaches that salvation is of the Jews. This is a two-fold statement, yes salvation is found in no one else but Y’shua, and His redemptive work, which was delivered to the world through the Jewish culture, but the very way of life, the culture, that G-d established with the Jewish community is how HE wants the world to learn and live when serving HIM. If you want to learn what the Bible really teaches, one must look at the words of the Bible through Hebraic/Jewish lenses.
We have established a basis of thought, so let us continue in our look at: "What is the Gospel."
Again this is not an extensive study, just a brief look, but one that will give us some answers, hopefully. In the Gospel of John in the New Testament (B'rit ha Chadasha), Chapter 3:3 we read, Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of G-d. Again we see in Chapter 3:5, Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of G-d.(6) That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Hmmm, so we learn from the Master Himself that one needs to be Born again to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. Very important point! Let's remember this and continue.
John the Baptist speaks some very revealing words speaking of this Jesus (Y'shua), later in Chapter 3:31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. (32) And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifies; and no man receives his testimony.(33) He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that G-d is true.(34)For he whom G-d hath sent speaketh the words of G-d: for G-d giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.(35) The Father loves the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.(36) He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of G-d abides on him. So by John's testimony we learn that all things have been given to the Son (Jesus) from the Father (G-d), and that all who believe in the Son(Jesus) has eternal life. Those that do not believe in the Son (Jesus) have not eternal life, but are condemned. Strong words! Words we need to listen to and take heed to. The key word here is "believe". Continuing in the Hebraic understanding, this means what one believes will lead to action in one's life. Remember the spirit and the physical work together. Let's continue.
Following along in John chapter 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of G-d, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. Here we see the encounter that Y’shua (Jesus) has with the Samaritan woman again. He asks her for a drink, she questions him that he a Jew would ask her a Samaritan for a drink, because Jewish people did not associate with the Samaritans. Y’shua (Jesus) answers with if she only knew who she was talking to she would ask him for a drink and He would give her living water. First we see this Jesus is referred to as "the gift of G-d", so when we look at a gift, we cannot purchase a gift, but one receives a gift. Here is this word "receive" again. We heard that word in John's testimony of Y'shua. He who receives and believes the gift of G-d, which is the Son of G-d, which is Y'shua(Jesus). Things are getting clearer. Let us continue.
John 4:14 Jesus says; But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. When reading these verses we need to go back to John the Immerser's testimony of Y'shua in chapter 1:32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.(33) And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizes with the Holy Ghost.(34) And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of G-d.
We also need to look at verses 20, 21 in chapter 1. John is asked who he is ? He is asked are you the Christ (Messiah)? Are you Elijah? Are you the Prophet? The Jewish people were looking for all these individuals that are referred to here. In John's testimony in chapter 1 verse 34 He sums it all up in this; This Y'shua(Jesus) fellow is the(1)Messiah(2) The Prophet(3)The Son of G-d. He did not refer to Him as Elijah, for he said this of himself in chapter 1 verse 23 which is a quote from Isaiah 40:3, which refers to Elijah, or someone in the spirit of Elijah. Y'shua speaks of John the Baptist as Elijah in the Gospel of Matthew11:14.
Let's switch gears a little bit here. Many times we are told that the Good News is Jesus dyeing on the cross for our sins, then in 3 days He arose from the dead. That is the Good News of the Kingdom of G-d. Well yes and no. That is the most significant part of the message of The Good News. But there are additional ingredients to the story. We have to look at the Passover story, and understand the message of redemption found in the Passover. This is the key to the redemption story. There can be no redemption without the shedding of blood. (Exo_12:13 and the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. Another passage found in Exo_12:23 For the L-RD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the L-RD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. And the redemption is with the blood of a lamb. Exo_12:3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, in the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for a house:
Exo_12:4 and if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.
Exo_12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: Not only was the children of Israel redeemed from Egypt by a lamb without blemish, but this is a shadow picture of the Messiah that was to come, for the redemption of the world. Joh_1:29 the next day John seeth Jesus (Y’shua) coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of G-d, which taketh away the sin of the world. Y’shua is the Lamb of G-D. So the death, burial, and resurrection of Messiah Y’shua (Jesus) is the key moment of history in which G-D provided a lamb, a way for the redemption of the world, not just Israel, but the whole world. To those who believe on His Name. That moment is the door that has been opened for a way to enter into The Kingdom of Heaven, Eternal Life. This is the only way into The Kingdom of Heaven! Messiah Y’shua is the door; He is the only way, the only way to the Kingdom of Heaven. We must not lose sight of this most significant event! Redemption cannot be possible without Y’shua laying down His life.
Messiah was prophesied by Moses and the Prophets of one to come that would give sight to the blind, that the lame would walk, the lepers would be cleansed, the dead would be raised up, and the poor would have the Good News preached to them(Matt.11:5). But in Matt.4:23 we see Y’shua (Jesus) after His temptations in the wilderness going around in the Galilee teaching in their Synagogues, and preaching the Good News of the Kingdom. Wait a minute, Jesus is still alive! This occurred before the crucifixion, before He arose from the dead. So this Good News was before that? Remember I mentioned there are additional ingredients to the story? Let us continue.
In Matthew 4:17 we see Y’shua (Jesus) preaching and saying, "Repent; for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. We have another clue to the Good News given here. The word "Repent". Let us look further into the meaning of the word repent. The Greek word translated as repent in this verse in the Strong's concordance is"G3340- μετανοέω- metanoeō. Which means “to think differently or afterwards, that is, reconsider (morally to feel compunction): but let's go further with this word. In the Hebrew we have 2 words to consider,1) H5162-נחם-nâcham- this means: to sigh, that is, breathe strongly; by implication to be sorry. The second word to consider is 2) H7725-שׁוּב-shoob- this word means: to turn back (hence, away) transitively or intransitively, literally or figuratively (not necessarily with the idea of return to the starting point.
In summary the word "repent" can mean to feel sorry, to have a change of heart, to think differently, then to turn from ones way or to return to your starting point. If we return to our starting point, what is the starting point? That would be in "the beginning" or Genesis, or in Hebrew Beresheet. In the beginning G-d created. That is our starting point. The origins of all that is. G-d! G-d is our starting point. So when we repent, we have a change of heart, then we return to G-d, our Creator and His instructions(Torah) for us on how we are to live.
But the Bible teaches us that our sin has separated us from G-d. A wall if you will. How are we to return to G-d if there is a wall between us and G-d, the Bible says we can't even approach G-d without perishing. That is because G-d is a Holy (Kadosh) G-d, His presence cannot tolerate sin(disobedience to His instructions). Something has to change for us to approach G-d. Or someone has to be a mediator, a go between, if you will. But this would take one that has not sinned. But the Bible teaches us that all have sinned (Romans 3:23), No one is righteous (Romans 3:10), (Job15:14). There is only one that is righteous, or clean, that is G-d Himself. G-d is the one that must be the Mediator between man and Himself. There has always been a mediator between G-d and man, since the fall. When we look how G-d delivered the children of Israel, He redeemed them from the land of burden (Egypt) Moses was chosen as the one that would act as G-d and redeem them, Exo 4:16 And he(Aaron) shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of G-d. We see here that Moses is actually going to be the very representation of G-d Himself.
So in this instance, Aaron would mediate between G-d and man, with Moses being the very representation of G-d. But that did not do away with sin. Animals had to be sacrificed, (the innocent for the guilty). Why animal sacrifice? We find in the Torah, Lev_17:11 for the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that makes an atonement for the soul. So we see without blood there cannot be atonement for sin. But it had to be done every year on the Day of Atonement. So it did not do away with sin, just covered it for restored relations with the Almighty.
The Bible states that Moses could approach G-d in a way, he could see him face to face. There are two instances of someone being able to see G-d "face to face", Moses was one(Ex.33:11), Jacob was another(Gen.32:30). Again it took an animal sacrifice to remove sin and approach G-d. Without it, we would perish. Through Moses there was a prophecy given that there would be a prophet like Moses, G-d's very representation, but greater than Moses for he would be G-d, this prophet would have the very words of G-d in his mouth(Deut.18:15-18),(Aaron would not be needed with this Prophet to come). All that he was to speak we were to listen and do. This is speaking of Y'shua (Jesus).
In Zechariah we are told that there would be a fountain of living water opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and uncleanness(Zec 13:1 ).In Jeremiah we are told that G-d Himself is that fountain of living water(Jer 2:13). Going back to the encounter Jesus had with the woman at the well, he is that living water (John4:14). In John 3:16 we are told that G-d loves the world so much that He gave His only Son for the forgiveness of sins. Not the condemnation of the world, but that through G-d's own Son the world may have forgiveness of sins. Through Y'shua (Jesus), G-d's only Son, which He willingly gave. Remember this is a "gift". Y'shua (Jesus) also willingly gave His life for the redemption of mankind, no one took His life, He laid it down willingly for you and for me. This offering also had to be without blemish, without sin. This is the Passover story. Y'shua was examined, and HE was found without blemish, without sin. He also had the power to take it back up again, through the resurrection. After three days of being in the tomb Y'shua rose from the dead! He has become the first born from the grave. Amazing Grace! This is amazing, simply amazing! Even through Y'shua, blood is needed to remove sin. The innocent for the guilty. But Y'shua's blood atonement is forever. Heb 9:25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; (animal sacrifice)
Heb 9:26 for then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
Heb 9:27 and as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. (you will notice in verse 26 it is stated at the "end of the world", time is short my friends!)ACT NOW!
The shedding of Y'shua's blood accomplished two things.1) Atonement for our sins, the innocent for the guilty. 2) But it also established the Renewed Covenant, or New Covenant. This Covenant is a better covenant than the first, that does not mean the former is done away with, but this Covenant builds upon it, there are certain aspects of the first Covenant that are not in play anymore, but others are still in effect. This New Covenant ushered in a time when G-d's Spirit could dwell in His people, through Messiah. This Covenant was ratified with the blood of the Son of G-d! One thing some do not understand, when you are saved by the blood of Messiah, you enter into a covenant relationship with Him, the same as a marriage between Man and Woman. You are bound together as one! That is an amazing statement, to be bound together with the Son of G-d. For eternity. Awesome!
Alright, we need to address something here. We have talked about sin. This is what separates us from G-d. So what exactly is "sin"? This is a very simple definition. Sin is the transgression of G-d's commandments. So if there are any commandments that G-d has issued, when we transgress any of them that is what the Bible explains as "sin". One example, this is a big one, but only one example. We see in the Ten Commandments G-d commands us to "Remember the Sabbath to keep it Holy." this is a commandment of G-d. When we do not keep this commandment, we transgress the commandment, we sin. The Bible tells us that sin leads to death (Rom 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of G-d is eternal life through Jesus Christ our L-rd.”) This is just one commandment that all mankind have transgressed. The Bible teaches us that if we transgress one commandment we have transgressed all of them.
So if we have transgressed all of them, why try and keep the commandments, it is hopeless right? Besides Jesus has saved us from that right? Let us look at 1 John 2, I am going to include a number of verses, to understand this point.
1Jn 2:1 my little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
1Jn 2:2 and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
1Jn 2:3 and hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1Jn 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1Jn 2:5 but whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of G-d perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
1Jn 2:6 He that saith he abides in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
1Jn 2:7 Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
1Jn 2:8 Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.
1Jn 2:9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
1Jn 2:10 He that loves his brother abides in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
1Jn 2:11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
1Jn 2:12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.
1Jn 2:13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.
1Jn 2:14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
1Jn 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1Jn 2:16 for all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1Jn 2:17 And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of G-d abides forever.
What John is trying to tell us here is we are NOT TO SIN, no license here to sin. Again let us remember sin is the transgression of G-d's commandments, no matter how insignificant they may seem all His commandments. Now let's be reasonable here, there are some commandments that really don't pertain to all of us. That does not mean they are done away with, absolutely not. What does Y'shua (Jesus) teach us in the book of Matthew? (Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law(Torah), or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. (The Hebrew understanding of "fulfill Torah" is that the Torah is going to be explained, or an interpretation of Torah is going to be given.) One of Y'shua's tasks as Messiah was to interpret the Torah for us.
Mat 5:18 for verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. (a jot or tittle, is the smallest of letters in the Hebrew aleph-bet)
Mat 5:19 whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. )
Now back to the Letter of John, we are not to sin, but if we do sin we have an advocate with the Father (G-d). A Mediator if you will, this Advocate is Y'shua (Jesus). Through His name our sins are forgiven. But if we continue to sin the sacrifice that He made at the cross (torture stake), for the sins of the world, for your sins, for my sins, it is null and void, if we continue to willingly sin. He died on the cross (torture stake) not to give us a license to sin, but to redeem us from the bondage of sin! Dearly beloved we live in a fallen darkened world, this world is under the control of the dark one. Satan is what we call him. This is not his name, but it is what describes who he is. Satan is a Hebrew term for "enemy". That is what he is, he is our enemy. He is the enemy of G-d. So we live in his world, his kingdom. But even though we live in his kingdom, we are not "of his kingdom", we are not to live by the rules of his kingdom. His kingdom leads to bondage, sin leads to bondage, though it may seem fun for a season, ultimately it leads to bondage and then ultimately death. Through Y'shua we can be born again, into an everlasting Kingdom, G-d's Kingdom. The Kingdom of Heaven, an everlasting Kingdom that will never perish but will be forever. One has true freedom in G-d's Kingdom, no bondage there, He has set us free! This world that we live in, Satan’s kingdom, is coming to an end, it will not last forever. It will be judged for all of its sins that it has committed. Sin, the transgression of G-d's commandments will be judged. That is for certain. But G-d has given us an opportunity to escape this judgement. To enter into His Kingdom you must enter through the Door He has provided. That Door is Y'shua (Jesus). That is the only way to enter into His Kingdom. Once you enter through this door, Y'shua, you have entered into G-d's Kingdom, forever! Death has no dominion over you, your body may be put to sleep, but you have escaped the sentence of death through Y'shua!
Alright, now is the time to sum up all we have learned. I could go on and on. On all the reasons and what is all the proofs of what the Good News or the Gospel is.
But I have to present the summary sometime. This is it: The Gospel of the Kingdom of G-d is this, all that have ever come into this world, born of a woman with the seed of a man is condemned before G-d,( who is righteous, without any sin, He can't transgress His own commandments, can He?) But we all fall short of this Glory of G-d, and we are all without excuse, we have all transgressed His righteous commandments. His commandments (Torah) are His instructions to us, His creation on how we are to live. But He has provided a way. If we repent (which means to return to Him) with an open heart, like a child. (Deu 10:16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiff-necked.), (Jer 4:4 Circumcise yourselves to the L-RD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.), (Rom 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
Rom 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of G-d.)
He has provided a way to return to Him through the giving of His Son, which knew no sin; there was no sin in Him. But He willingly laid down His perfect Life for ours. The sacrifice of a righteous one, for an unrighteous one. He did this because He loved not His life to the end, and for the love of the Father. He obeyed His Father to the end, for this is why He came into this world, not that this world would be condemned but that this world could be saved through Him. Trusting in Him as the one that was prophesied to come, the Messiah of Israel, to redeem us and restore us to a righteous relationship with G-d. When we trust in Him as the one that was to come, we also obey Him. He tells us in the Gospel of John that if we love Him we will obey His commandments. All of His commandments. Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. (He will immerse you in His Spirit, so you can walk in newness of life!)
Joh 14:22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, L-rd, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. (again we see Him giving us His Spirit)
These commandments are not hard for one that has been "Born Again", "Born from Above". He anoints us with His Ruach ha Kodesh (Holy Spirit) which enables us to live a righteous life for Him, in obedience to Him. I would like to add an explanation of "Born Again", Jewish or Hebraic understanding of "Born Again" is we are born again each and every day. The observant Jewish people to this day recite a blessing on waking up in the morning, each and every day! This blessing is called the "Modeh Ani". Jewish understanding is that G-D restores our souls each and every day. This faith we walk is a day by day faith. The G-D of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Israel) is a G-D of todays! HE doesn't dwell on yesterday or tomorrow, Today is the most important time of our lives, and this is G-D's perspective. TODAY!
There is a good saying that is worthy of repeating," He laid down His life for us, while we were yet sinners, so that we could have eternal life, so we should lay down our lives for Him (daily)." All to the Glory of G-D the Father, through His Son, Y'shua ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ).
These steps to eternal life:
* Repent (of your sins, turn away, renounce this present kingdom of Satan, return to G-D)
*Believe (this is an action word, trust in Y'shua and live in obedience to Him daily!)
*Confess (with your mouth, Y'shua died for you and rose from the grave)
*Salvation (Y'shua is THE ONLY WAY, ONLY TRUTH, ETERNAL LIFE, no one comes to the Father but by Him)
The Gospel comes in two stages, that is why the Messiah needed to come twice, the early rain, the latter rain:
* HIS first coming for the redemption of our souls, HIS sacrifice on the tree. Return us to Torah, G-D's WAY for us to live.
* HIS second coming is to restore "The Kingdom of Israel". HE will rule here on earth from Jerusalem, from HIS Throne.
That my friend is the Gospel, or Good News which has been proclaimed through the name of Y'shua. This has always been the Good News, it did not just start 2000 yrs. ago, that was the culmination of the Good News. Abraham the father of our faith, the day he was prepared to sacrifice his only son, Isaac (Isaac was willing to lay his life down in obedience to his father as a shadow picture of Y'shua), seen Y'shua's day and was glad. Faith/trust has always been the way to G-D. Faith is an action word, not with the mouth but also with deeds. That has always been the case, whether you are looking ahead or behind you. In the beginning G-D Almighty (El SHADDAI) provided the way.
So if you haven't done so yet, now is the time! Drop to your knees and cry out to El Shaddai, G-D ALMIGHTY, YHWH is HIS eternal Hebrew Name, with an open heart to Him. He seeks your heart. Be True! Confess your sins, does not matter the sin, you might feel that you are not worthy to approach G-D, for you have sinned greatly! The greater the sinner, the greater the forgiveness! He loves you more than you can know! Seek forgiveness, believe on His Son, Y'shua et Natzrati ha Mashiach (Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah). That He died in your place, for your transgressions! If you would have been the only one alive in the world, He still would have died for you! He willingly laid down His life for you, then He took it back up again in three days, as He said He would! He is alive and at the right hand of G-D the Father (YHWH) in the throne of the heavens! Amen! See (Deut. 30:10-20) - (Romans 10:8-21)
If you have made this commitment to the One that saves, contact us we would love to hear from you! Find a good place of assembly that keeps the "Feasts of the L-rd" that are found in Leviticus 23. Did you know that when Y'shua died on the cross, He was fulfilling the "Feast of Passover"? When He arose from the dead He was fulfilling the "Feast of First Fruits"? And above all, pray and read your Bible, His return is very, very near, even at the doorsteps!
I want to leave you with these verses, remember Y'shua calls us to "Take up our cross/tree and Follow Him". He was, and always will be Jewish, so if you are to truly follow Him, your Rabbi, the Master Rabbi, and then you must follow Him in His Scriptural Jewish teachings. All the teachings of Jesus are thoroughly Jewish in every sense of the word. He is Jewish, His early disciples (Talmidim)were Jewish, all the writers of the Bible were Jewish. To understand this a bit better, read Romans - Chapter 11.
(Italics are my added thoughts)
Mar 10:13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
Mar 10:14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of G-d.
Mar 10:15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of G-d as a little child, he shall not enter therein. (Sincerity of heart, a pure heart)
Mar 10:16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them. ( a Jewish Blessing)
Mar 10:17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? (Look at this one, he comes running and kneels before the Master! He is seeking the way. I wonder if after Y'shua touched and blessed the children if there wasn't an amazing sign that was manifested to the children? Is this why this fellow comes running to Him?)
Mar 10:18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, G-d. (in this statement by Y'shua, He demands a response from all that will read this, what is your response? Is Y'shua G-D in the flesh, or is He not? He is asking this person why you are calling Him good. Than He mentions only G-D is good.)
Mar 10:19 Thou knows the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honor thy father and mother. (Notice with the question of eternal life, Y'shua's first remarks is of the Torah, the commandments of G-d.)
Mar 10:20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
Mar 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. (This is amazing! This person asks how to receive eternal life, Y'shua responds with the Torah, the commandments of G-D, this person states he has kept all the commandments of G-D, which no one has done ever. Then what do we see? Jesus loved him! Then Y'shua tests his heart. What/who is his god? The first commandment of G-D? Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. He demands that He is first in your life. He is offering this person treasure in Heaven if he obeys and follows Him, to make Him first! What is our response? Will we make Him first in our lives?)
Mar 10:22 and he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. (His possessions were his god)
Mar 10:23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of G-d!
Mar 10:24 and the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answered again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of G-d! (The key word here is Trust, where is your trust, who do you trust?)
Mar 10:25 it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of G-d.
Mar 10:26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
Mar 10:27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with G-d: for with G-d all things are possible. ( do not trust in man, trust only in G-D), Psalm 118
Mar 10:28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.
Mar 10:29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
Mar 10:30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
Mar 10:31 But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
Come follow the one that was called "a son of a carpenter", from a small village named, "Nazareth", who referred to himself as "Son of Man", who his closest followers referred to as "Son of G-D, Ben Elohim".
One last parting thought, in Deu 6:2 That thou mightest fear the L-RD thy G-d, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
Deu 6:3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the L-RD G-d of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
Y'shua, when asked what the greatest commandment was, He answered with,' The Shema'.
Mar 12:28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
Mar 12:29 And Jesus / Y'shua answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The L-rd our G-d is one L-rd:
Mar 12:30 And thou shalt love the L-rd thy G-d with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Mar 12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
THE SHEMA - The signature statement of faith of the Jewish people:
Deu 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
Deu 6:5 and thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Deu 6:6 and these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
Deu 6:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Deu 6:8 and thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
Deu 6:9 and thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
In the two words I underlined, (statutes), (commandments),
STATUTES = The Hebrew understanding ( חקּה - khook-kaw') - appointed, custom, manner, ordinance. This is from the Strong's concordance.
COMMANDMENTS = The Hebrew understanding (מצוה - mits-vaw') - a command, whether human or divine (collectively the Law): - (which was) commanded (-ment), law, ordinance, precept.
So obeying G-D's commandments is more than the TEN COMMANDMENTS, but obeying HIS appointed times, HIS customs, HIS WAY of how we should live.
This is not burdensome once HE dwells in the midst of us, inside of us. HIS SPIRIT enables us to do all that HE requires; in fact it is a pure joy to obey HIM in all HIS ways! That is where the "Truth sets us free from the law of sin!"
I humbly present to you my understanding of The Gospel (Good News), though it is most assuredly lacking in some form or another, I pray that the G-D of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob gives you eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart to perceive the wonders that HE has in store for those who love HIM.
Please excuse the poor grammar where it may exist.
Shalom, Peace in the name of Y'shua et Natzrati ha Mashiach
